Good transport links and extensive services

Länsikeskus is located in the Mälikkälä district in the western part of Turku, bordering Raisio and Kuninkoja. Could Länsikeskus be the perfect base for your smooth everyday life?

The Länsikekus area offers comprehensive daily services, including all major supermarkets, petrol stations, and a variety of shops. Transport connections to Turku city centre, Naantali, and Raisio are excellent, including public transport. Nearby, you will find plenty of recreational activities for all ages as well as schools and daycare centres. Let's get to know Turku western center better!

Convenient everyday life, nature experiences, and shopping

Daily shopping is easy for residents in Länsikeskus. If, for some reason, you cannot find what you are looking for at Prisma, Citymarket, Tokmanni, Lidl, or the many shops in the Länsi1 shopping centre, the nearby Mylly Shopping Centre offers 150 shops and services. Mylly can also be reached on foot via the fitness trail through the Mälikkälä forest. This several-kilometre-long trail is surrounded by fields, forest views, and pastures. If you're looking for a new car, Mylly’s auto centre might have just what you need.

Do your kids need activities during a shopping trip? Near Mylly, you’ll find Raisio’s Hoplop play park, and within Mylly itself, the climbing centre Irti Maasta. Other recreational activities for children in Länsikeskus include dance classes, entrepreneurial 4H activities, and dialect clubs organised by Turkuseura.

Diverse fitness opportunities at Impivaara

Stay active at the Impivaara swimming pool, which offers baby swimming, courses, guided exercise sessions, and gym coaching. The pools are named after characters from Seven Brothers, as befits the Impivaara setting.

The Impivaara area is also home to several other sports facilities. One highlight is the Jarkko Nieminen Arena, named after the famous local tennis player, which is a dream for racket sports enthusiasts. The arena features courts for tennis, badminton, and padel, along with courses and lessons for these sports. There’s also an on-site lunch restaurant, gym, and massage services.

For football enthusiasts, Impivaara Football Hall and Lähitapiola Arena offer year-round opportunities to play.

In the summer, the Impivaara area also features Jukupark Water Park, which boasts 16 waterslides, saunas, and Finland’s largest water playground. There’s even a bouncy castle area! Spend a full summer day enjoying the slides or simply relaxing in the sun.

Free activities year-round

Länsikeskus is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. For example, the Kalmasvuori fitness stairs are a great, free way to get moving. The stairs are located along a trail starting at the end of Kankareenkuja.

Nearby, Teräsrautela Park offers activities for all ages. The park includes beach volleyball and basketball courts, a calisthenics area, and an accessible fitness trail. The obstacle and balance track helps to improve coordination, or you can enjoy a peaceful walk to maintain health, vitality, and joy in life. In winter, the sledging hill adds extra excitement.

Nunnavuori Hill lies between the Runosmäki residential area and the Impivaara sports centre. Its summit offers a stunning view over Turku, and its slopes are surrounded by trails. At the top, you’ll find a nature reserve of less than a hectare in size. One of its most intriguing features is an ancient shoreline created during the Ancylus Lake phase of the Baltic Sea, commonly known as pirunpelto (devil’s field).

Animal-friendly life

The Metsäkylä riding school offers a wide range of activities for horse enthusiasts. Approved by the Finnish Equestrian Federation, this quality stable provides courses, riding lessons, wellness services, and rehabilitation with the help of horses, ponies, and other farm animals. Would you like to try a forest walk with a pony, animal-assisted therapy, or a workplace wellness day with excellent transport connections?

The Turku Greyhound Club, established in 1968, organises greyhound races annually on both track and field. The volunteer-managed greyhound track is located in Tammispaltanpuisto.

Dogs of other breeds can enjoy walking their humans along the forest trails of Mälikkälä and Nunnavuori. Several dog parks are also located within a few kilometres.
