The area has around 10 km of signposted hiking trails and two rest areas with campfire pits. The Viitastenperä rest area on Hervantajärvi lake features a unique, organically designed lean-to shelter complex complete with woodsheds and dry toilets.

2. Heinurinmäki park with its many amenities

The Heinurinmäki activities and exercise park will feature playing fields, skate park, BMX track and outdoor gym. In winter, the artificial turf-covered playing field will be iced over for ice-skating. The BMX track will be designed for full compliance with the requirements of the sport and it will be suitable also for beginners. Ground-level elements accessible for skateboarders of all skill levels are envisioned for the skate park. The outdoor gym will also be well appointed. The park is roughly 500 m from the Hervantajärvi tram stop.

3. Make a splash in clear swimming waters

The Tampere region has 160 lakes and ponds with an area of 1 hectare or more, and the quality of the water at the ones closest to habitation is subject to regular monitoring. Hervantajärvi lake is among those ideally suited for recreation. One of most inviting swimming spots in Tampere can be found on the shores of Hervantajärvi lake: the waters at the peaceful Hervantajärvi beach are clear and warm in summer. 4. New playground for children of all ages in Joutsenpuisto

A new playground will be completed in autumn 2022 in Joutsenpuisto park, located in the Hervantajärvi district close to the tram terminus. Joutsenpuisto playground will be situated next to the daycare centre that is to rise at the eastern edge of the park. The playground will be equipped with swings, playhouse-slide, zip line, carousel and spring riders, and of course a sandbox. There will also be seating areas, exercise areas and room for ballgames. The lit playground will have a leafy feel, as it is be edged in trees.

5. Celebrate at Majaranta private sauna

Looking to host a party or a meeting? The Majaranta private sauna and banquet room could be just the ticket. The facilities lend themselves equally well to relaxed get-togethers and more formal meetings. Majaranta can accommodate around 30–40 people.
