Green homes

SATO has 1,100 'Green homes' apartments. These rental apartments have either geo-thermal heating or consumption based water billing, or both.

Rakli ry, a Finnish organization for property owners and developers, with professional housing companies Avara, Keva, Kruunuasunnot, LähiTapiola Kiinteistövarainhoito, OP Kiinteistösijoitus, SATO, and Sivakka-yhtymä, has launched a 'Green homes' sustainability action for rental housing, with over 25,000 apartments in Finland.

Residents in 'Green homes' apartments will regularly receive information on emissions caused by housing, as well as guidance on more sustainable living. All Green home companies are committed to the Energy Efficiency Agreement targets for the property sector (Finnish acronym VAETS), as well as aiming for zero emissions from energy consumption during use by 2030.

'Green homes' is not a certificate - it is a continuing sustainability task.
