Sorakatu 9 stands in a prime location: Skanssi is a pleasant and peaceful area where everything you need for daily living is close at hand. Right next door is the Skanssi shopping centre with its comprehensive range of services, recreational facilities, shops and restaurants. The nearest schools are in Laune and there is a private daycare centre at Skanssi shopping centre.
The area has good transport connections towards the city centre and beyond. Buses run right by the building and both the new Turku motorway and road 110 to Helsinki are only a short way away.
There is a small wooded area to the east of the building and no building immediately close by towards the west, either. The neighbourhood offers plenty to do for grown-ups, children and pet owners alike. The new cycling trail running by the building gives to access to both the city centre and other nearby locations. Not far is also a running track on which you can admire the diversity of nature in the area: gravel ridges and wooded patches. Well maintained in summer and winter, the running track / ski trail extends all the way to Kaarina. There are also many parks, wider forested areas and playgrounds close to Sorakatu.
Be sure to ask about parking, too! There are plenty of parking spaces in the adjacent parking garage and on the grounds of the building. Electric car charging points (slow chargers) are also available. This house with all its apartments, balconies and yard-area are smoke-free.
Completed in 2023, Sorakatu 9 is a sturdy, concrete-frame building in the best location in Skanssi.
The many common areas of the building are located on floor 1: storage units, civil defence shelter, storage for baby carriages and bicycles, laundry and drying room, and sauna facilities. The outdoor equipment storage rooms can conveniently be accessed straight from Sorakatu. The laundry is equipped with two washing machines and one dryer, which can be used free of charge by booking a slot in the laundry booking system. Each apartment has a private storage unit.
The homes are located on floors 2–8. The floors of the homes are done in pale oak-plank laminate, the walls are painted in a light colour. The windows are fitted with light-coloured Venetian blinds.
The kitchen cabinet doors are microlaminate in cappuccino, a pale beige shade. The countertops are done in durable grey laminate and the backsplash in white panel. The kitchens are equipped with induction stovetop, oven, extractor fan and fridge-freezer, with space set aside for a microwave.
The bathrooms have space and hook-ups for a washing machine and dryer. The homes are also equipped with laundry cabinets, which are in the bathroom in the 3-bedroom homes and in the entrance hallway in all others. The tiled bathrooms have wet underfloor heating.
The building is heated with district heat. Each apartment has its own water meter. The building features centralised mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation with heat recovery. Ventilation enhancement takes place via the extractor hood. The building is equipped with iLOQ locks. The solar panels on the roofs of the house produce electricity for the property's needs.
